We done carved us up some of them there pumpkins

I know- what is this? The 3rd or 4th post in one day? I was just slacking for so long, I'm trying to get caught back up.... Anyway, last night we went to some friends' house and had a delicious chili dinner, carved some scary pumpkins, and decorated some yummy little cookies. The boys were incredibly grumpy, especially Rogue. He's been sick for a couple of weeks straight now, so he's used to being babied, and getting everything he wants. We need to hurry up and get back into routine, because this grumpiness is not any fun for anyone. Anyway, I still had a good time carving their pumpkins for them. No- neither one was willing to clean the guts out of their own pumpkin. They're boys- they're supposed to love that kind of stuff, am I right? Elijah did draw the face on his pumpkin, though, and it turned out really cool. Rogue told me what to do on his, and, of course, I did Alex's little one all myself.... We had lots of fun- I can't wait for Halloween!!

Fresh Apple Cider

Yummy! Apple Cider time. Every year, we make fresh apple cider at my parents' house. This year, we brought some new friends along, but there was something else new this year, too- RAIN! It poured the entire time we were out there. So, instead of letting the kids go exploring around, and helping with the cider, they were up at the house in the playroom the whole time. It all worked out okay in the end. The kids had fun, and we still got to take home lots of yummy goodness, but I just wish that it was a little bit nicer weather for us. Oh- and, of course, as soon as we were done it cleared up, and was actually quite nice. Why does it always happen that way?

She's 1!!

My gorgeous baby girl is one year old! I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday.... well, you know. Anywho, as I said in the last post, we went to the pumpkin patch on her birthday, but then her party with the fam was on Saturday. She had a great day, lots of fun, lots of new clothes, lots of cake, and even took her first steps! She did wonderfully. She wasn't too interested in opening more than one gift, so I had to do it for her- but that is, of course, to be expected. I love that the boys just adore their little sister. They were so excited to watch her, help her, and love on her.

Pumpkin Patch Birthday

Alexandra's turned one year old on October 4th. Her party wasn't until the weekend, so I didn't have anything special planned for the day. Poor girl wasn't going to get anything special on her special day, until Dad swooped in to the rescue. He from work, and decided we should all go to the pumpkin patch for the day. IT WAS GREAT! It was so early in the season, and on a weekday, so there was hardly anyone there. We had the run of the place! We did a maze, a crazy difficult obstacle course, all took turns on the zipline (even Alex), conquered the fort, pet the animals, played in the corn "sand" boxes... Alex had a great birthday. She even got a very special treat of candy corn and fresh apple cider- yummy :)
